Leuze Photoelectric Sensors
Photoelectric sensors, also known as photo eyes, are electronic components designed to detect distance, absence, or the presence of objects within a field. Detection is determined using a light emitter and receiving element. The Leuze brand have a wide variety of photoelectric sensors designed for industrial applications, including potentially explosive areas.
Types of photoelectric sensors include:
Diffuse Reflective Sensor – The light emitter and receiving element are contained together in one housing. Detection is accomplished when the emitted light strikes the target and is reflected.
Through Beam Sensor Set – The light emitter and receiving element are separate and placed opposite to one another. A beam flows between the two and output is activated when broken.
Retroreflective Sensor - The light emitter and receiving element are contained together in one housing. A beam flows to a reflector and is bounced back to the sensor. When the beam is broken, the output is activated.
