The BGCH_FN Non-Caged Type Linear Bearings / Linear Guide, including BGCH45FN-N-Z0 is compatible with IKO LWHT_B series.

BGC Cage type

In traditional linear guide design, the steel balls rotate between the guide and carriage. The relative speed on the steel ball contact point is twice that of the rotational speed. In addition, the contact surface A of traditional guides between steel balls is very small. As the contact pressure (P) moved toward infinity (P = the mutual pressure exerted among the steel balls (F)/contact surface (A). Therefore, the steel balls are easily worn out in traditional guides. The BGC series contain lubricant between steel balls and the friction produced is absorbed by the oil film. Thus, this series is suitable for high-speed use.

P: contact pressure between neighboring steel balls
F: interactive force between neighboring steel balls
A: contact area of neighboring steel balls

In the BGC linear guides, the steel balls are isolated by the oil film. Instead of contacting directly with arelative speed twice as the rotational speed as in the conventional linear guides. Hence, the contact pressure of the conventional linear guides is a lot bigger than of the BGC linear guides. In conclusion, contact pressure and relative speed of BGC linear guides as far less than of the conventional once and so the heat generated is less in the BGC linear guides.

BGC Lubrication by Retainer Circulation

The oil injection opening is injected with lubricating oil in the BGC linear guides. By using the loop cage, the lubrication effect is reinforced, so that using BGC linear guides ensure better equipment service life than thetraditional type of linear guides and even other cage type linear guides.

The oil film is more easily attached between the chain belt and steel balls. The BGC series has a particular linear guide cage design which allows more space to contain lubricating oil. The moving cage brings the lubricating oil into all surfaces in the loop. Also, in astatic state, the oil loss of the BGC series is less than traditional linear guides. Traditional guides have steel balls contacting each other, and the lubricating oil is easily dispersed in the dynamic process. The loss of lubrication also creates problems such as wear, noise, heat, and so forth. The BGC linear guide series are developed to solve these problems, with the overall effect of raising the service life and quality of the linear guides.

Lower level of noise produced

Traditional linear guides have ahigher level of noise produced because:
1. The relative contact speed of steel balls are 2x (double) of the BGC series
2. The contact between steel balls is point contacts, with greater contact surface pressure, creating more friction than the GBC series.

The key reasons why noise is produced:
Traditional linear guide steel balls collide through direct metallic contacts, producing sharp screeching noise. The noise produced by BGC linear guide series is far lower than traditional linear guide series.

At high speed, steel balls move at different relative speed, which creates a chasing effect in the loop. The direct collision among steel balls in traditional linear guides produced huge noises. The BGC linear guide cage is made from macromolecule polymer with lubricant space designed within the chain belt design. With the flexibility of the chain belt and the cushioning effect of the lubricating oil, most of the noise produced from chasing effect is eliminated. The forces exerted on the steel balls are more even compared with traditional series, as the separation distance in traditional series can be fixed, thus easily producing irregular gaps and creating uneven forces exerted on the steel balls. With uneven forces exerted on steel balls over along period of time, the service life of steel balls is lower. The BGC series uses a steel ball fixed distance retainer, so that each steel ball receives a more balanced force, producing a longer and more stable service life.

Traditional guides can not maintain a fixed distance, easily producing irregular gaps, and uneven forces exerted
The BGC steel ball retainer has a fixed distance retaining function, so the issue of irregular gap is far smaller than traditional linear guides, leading to a more stable service life.

BGC complete cage design

The linear guide is designed with a separator between the steel balls. Because the external shape of the separate and the manufacturing principles are different, it is hard to completely distribute them throughout the entire loop. The end portion may leave a gap that is 1 or 1/2 size of a steel ball. The BGC linear guide design overcomes this problem, and can evenly distribute them throughout the loop, so that the forces received are more even, providing a more stable overall lifetime.
